NOTE: I typed this a week ago and lost it to a power outage, boycotted livejournal out of anger, but now I'm glad that it somehow saved it!

Christmas was good! Amber and I spent the 24th with Jason's family. Skipped the whole caroling-at-church thing because of the snow. Exchanged a few presents, had a dinner of our choice: KFC and sushi (I love their family tradition). Christmas morning, watched TV and talked to my dad for a good hour or two waiting for my lazy brother to get up, opened presents, then went back to Jason's.

Calling from the city of Boredom

Okay so today feels wasted, but tomorrow will be awesome so it will make up for it. It's Jason's birthday on Monday so we're doing a whole big thing tomorrow and I can't decide whether to look all dressy or not.

Slept in til 11 today, kinda worked on Christmas cards during the afternoon but got nowhere...before I knew it, it was 4:30 and I had to go to work. Work was uneventful. I did find a new vampire novel though which, as interested as it is, will likely get put on my shelf for the next few months. Also still on the fence about whether to write my story in past or present tense. The flowers on the "present" side are starting to look pretty.

Sorry for the short entry. I thought I had more to say.

Back home

I've had a LONG day, which included 2 hours of work wasted at school because the servers reset and lost my test answers, and 10 minutes trapped on a bus with a lunatic who seemed to convince the rest of the people that being trapped in a bus was deadly. (The doors were broken.)

Now thankfully at home and taking a break from putting together my first ever ceramic village, which Jason bought for me last year. So far...it's fun. I mean, I chipped two houses, had to search the whole house for a power bar with a compatible extension cord, and I think I misplaced some trees, but it was FUN. I haven't even placed the trees yet. I think I'll use them to hide the wires, since I suck at that so far. There's giant white snakes roaming around behind my village houses...

Sniffles are returning, I suspect it's the dust.

Look, I'm back! Again!
I realized my last (and first) post for this account was 2 years ago, and basically was appologizing for disappearing, and promising it wouldn't happen again.

Ha.

So, I would go through the annual "I'm sorry for not keeping in touch" paragraph letter, but those who know me have already heard it a million times, and those who don't will very likely soon find out.

So, quick introduction since I have other things on my mind: I’m still with Jason (5 years this past October), I’m going to school for Medical Transcription, I’m finally working on finishing a novel, and I’m living with my dad.

Odd that those even fell into order of importance.

Anyway, I’m in class right now and grammar is stressing me out, so I took a break. To do what? To edit my story, of course. It’s still practice! I tell myself.

I’m doing my story in first person, and have been getting very picky about the use of present tense verbs in a past tense sentence. I think it’s okay, but because of all those pesky rules in the English language, I simply can’t decide.

For example, if I were to say “Stepping off the ledge, I landed hard on the concrete below.”, would that be ok? “Landed” is past tense, so it sets the sentence to be a past tense event. “Stepping” is present tense, of course, but it’s describing a present action in a past event…

I think it’s ok. I’m getting too picky. And I know I could just type "I stepped off the ledge and landed hard on the concrete below." but I'm trying to eliminate the "I..." repetitiveness.

Anyway, I don’t know how many people attached to my friend’s list are actually active, but I know a few have changed names now, so please pass on the message that I’m back! Have them friend me or make a comment so I can friend them.
